Myles O'Reilly Monument

Myles O'Reilly Monument stands at the Finnea road junction, a limestone Celtic cross erected around 1913 to honour the man who died defending the bridge. The north face carries a carved human head and scrollwork, while the south displays a coat of arms, all enclosed by spiked cast-iron railings that catch the light like a small cage for memory. It is not a grand palace but a sharp, local warning: when the town faced loss, it shaped stone to keep the danger and the courage visible.
