Mound in Cloichear

A large mound of earth and stone situated in the field directly E of the car park at Clogher Strand. It measures 6 to 7m E-W x up to 2m high and is very uneven, possibly due to quarrying. The field in which it is located has a very uneven surface with numerous ridges and hollows. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey.
