Mound in Bartragh Island

In pasture, at the SE end of Bartragh Island, located on a low rise with a gentle fall of ground to S and good views S over the Moy estuary and E and NE to Ennicrone and Killala Bay. There are marram grass-covered dunes to NE–E. The shore lies c. 50m to E and c. 70m to S. A mound barrow (MA022-118001-) is visible c. 350m to W. This is a small, low oblong mound (4m N–S; 3m E–W; H 0.4-0.5m at N; 0.6m at S) with a flat top (1.4m E–W; 2.2m N–S). It is grass-covered.
