Hachured as a raised subcircular area on the Cassini edition (1916) of the OS 6-inch map. Noted by Westropp (1905, 360): ‘To the north of the castle [‘Dough Castle’ (CL015-089002-), c. 470m to S] and creek is a furze-covered knoll in a marsh, which may be a crannoge.’ A densely overgrown, roughly circular earth and stone mound (base diam. c. 34m; surface diam. 19m; H 2m) is defined by a gentle scarp.
