What is recorded here

Mote is a circular earthen mound on a Galway hillock, still standing with a shallow ditch at its west edge. Cattle graze around it now, but the shape remains clear enough to suggest people built it deliberately and lived near it for a long time.

On a prominent hillock in rolling pastureland. Well-preserved circular conical earthen mound (D 11m, H 1.6m) with some stone in evidence. It is delimited from SW to W by a fosse (Wth 1.2m) but elsewhere by a berm or terrace.
