Mote

Located in tillage at the head of a small W-E valley. It is marked as a 'mote' on the 1840 and 1927 eds of the OS 6-inch map, with Garryduff House immediately to the S. It is described locally as an earthen mound (diam. of base c. 20m; H c. 4m) with a well immediately adjacent to the NE, both of which were removed c. 1970, together with the house. Nothing is visible at ground level. It may hve been a large barrow or a motte.
