Garryduff may have hidden an early castle beneath a mound, though no wall or chamber remains visible to confirm the claim. Power wondered whether that buried shape held the truth, leaving the castle somewhere between memory and soil. The decies landscape keeps its secrets patient, waiting for someone to dig behind the grass and ask the mound what it swallowed.

According to Power (1952, 65) there may have been traces of the foundations of an early castle at Garryduff. He may have had the mound (WA037-019001-) in mind, but it is otherwise unlocated.
