Monifieth, Font Stone

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Monifieth, Font Stone as Cross Base (early Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Linked to a pre-Christian or early Christian ritual site, the Font Stone at Monifieth may have been used for sacred water-related ceremonies. Local tradition suggests it was later associated with Christian baptism or healing practices, though specific saints or cures are not recorded.
