What is recorded here

Situated on top of a low ridge running NE-SW with good views of surrounding grassland. Piercefield Castle (WM011-097----) 540m to W, Mullenoran Bridge 1km to NNW. The road which marks the townland boundary with Piercefield or Templeoran is 100m to W. A sub-rectangular shaped area (approx. dims. 30m NW-SE; 29m NE-SW) enclosed by two massive earthen banks and an intervening fosse with external fosse. A long rectangular building/house or barn (WM011-098001-) defined by an earthen bank, with an internal division and a door at NE occupies most of the interior. The interior slopes slightly from SE-NW, and has been quarried into at SW quadrant. There is a causeway across the fosse at N. Field fences enclose this monument on the N, E & W sides.
