Moated site in Ballyknockane (barretts By.)

In pasture, on E-facing slope. Depicted as hachured bivallate rectangular enclosure (max. c. 40m N-S; c. 30m E-W) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; no visible surface trace. Large stone (L 1.8m; 0.45m x 0.3m) in area of site. Surrounding field fences removed. Two wells are indicated on 1935 OS 6-inch map, immediately W of site.
