What is recorded here

In improved pasture, at the SSE-end of a ridge (long-axis NNW-SSE). Moated site conjoined to another moated site (TS061-098----) to the WSW. It is completely levelled over a large area though traces of a levelled outline are visible along the SSE-side, where it follows a natural contour. Farm trackway (Wth 2.5m) is to immediate NNW. Both moated sites are depicted on the 1952-54 edition OS 6-inch map as conjoined enclosures, TS061-098---- is defined as a sub-rectangular area with an internal pond to WSW and TS061-098001- as a small, D-shaped area (dims. c. 35m NW-SE; 20m ENE-WSW) conjoined to the ENE. A sketch plan and sections of this monument were drawn in 1954 (OS Field Memorandums). Ringfort (TS061-097----) is c. 100m to NW. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
