Minard Head is a long narrow ridge-backed promontory fort in County Kerry, Ireland. It still stands as a coastal ridge where people once lived, watched the sea and marked the edge of the land. The headland may have been cut off near its tip by a wide earthen bank and external fosse, making the place feel both exposed and deliberately shaped.
Described by Casey (2002, 64) as; ‘Not yet visited this long narrow ridge-backed headland seems to have been cut off some 100m from the tip by a wide earthen bank and external fosse.’
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
