Corn mill complex, c.1800, including:(i) Detached five-bay two-storey mill owner's house with single-bay single-storey lean-to advanced open porch to centre ground floor, single-bay single-storey end bay to right, and single-bay single-storey return to south-east. Pitched slate roofs (lean-to to porch) with clay ridge tiles, red brick Running bond chimney stack, rendered coping, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Unpainted roughcast walls with rendered strips to corners, and painted rendered piers to porch. Square-headed window openings with painted cut-stone sills, and two-over-two timber sash windows having iron bars to ground floor. Square-headed door opening with timber boarded half-door having herring bond-pattern tongue-and-groove panelled upper leaf. Set in own grounds perpendicular to road with random rubble stone boundary wall to perimeter of site.(ii) Detached three-bay two-storey mill with single-bay two-storey gabled projecting lower bay to left, and four-bay two-storey lower range to right. In use, 1903. Decommissioned, post-1955. Now disused. Pitched slate roofs (gabled to end bay) with clay ridge tiles, and no rainwater goods on dressed rubble stone eaves. Random rubble stone walls. Square-headed window openings with no sills, dressed rubble stone lintels, and timber boarded panel fittings. Square-headed door openings (on slate-lined rubble stone loading platform to main block) with dressed rubble stone lintels, and timber boarded doors. (iii) Detached five-bay single-storey outbuilding. Pitched slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles, rendered coping, and no rainwater goods on rendered rubble stone eaves. Painted random rubble stone walls. Square-headed window openings with no sills, timber lintels, and timber fittings. Square-headed door openings with timber lintels, and timber boarded doors.(iv) Detached seven-bay single-storey outbuilding with half-attic with elliptical-headed carriageway to right ground floor. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered coping, and no rainwater goods on iron mesh-lined eaves. Random rubble stone walls. Square-headed window openings with slate-lined sills, dressed stone lintels, and timber casement windows having some timber boarded panel fittings. Square-headed door openings (including one to first floor to side elevation approached by flight of six slate-lined rubble stone steps) with dressed stone lintels, and timber boarded doors having some timber boarded half-doors. Elliptical-headed carriageway to right ground floor with dressed rubble stone voussoirs, and fittings not visible.

A modest-scale corn mill complex forming an important element of the industrial legacy of County Kilkenny having supported the local agricultural economy since the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century. Although having been decommissioned in the mid twentieth century the mill proper survives remarkably intact with the original composition attributes in place together with most of the historic fabric. The associated house expresses an early provenance on account of characteristics including the disproportionate bias of solid to void in the massing incorporating a regular pattern of small-scale openings: now accommodating a private use the house has historically been well maintained to present an early aspect. A collection of modest-scale ancillary ranges enhances the group and setting values of the cluster in the rural landscape.
