Detached four-bay two-storey house, c.1900, possibly incorporating fabric of earlier range, pre-1840, on site with shopfront to right ground floor. Now disused to right ground floor. Pitched slate roof with decorative terracotta ridge tiles having trefoil apertures, red brick Running bond chimney stacks having stringcourses, and cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves. Unpainted rendered, ruled and lined walls with rendered quoins to ends. Square-headed window openings with cut-limestone sills, rendered surrounds having moulded reveals, and one-over-one timber sash windows. Square-headed door opening with rendered surround on cut-limestone base having moulded reveals, and timber panelled door having overlight. Timber shopfront to right ground floor on a symmetrical plan with panelled pilasters, fixed-pane display windows behind decorative iron screens having overlights, timber panelled double doors having overlight, glazed timber fascia having consoles, and moulded cornice. Interior with timber panelled reveals/shutters to window openings. Set back from line of road with tarmacadam verge to front. (ii) Attached three-bay single-storey outbuilding, c.1900, to east with pair of square-headed carriageways, and single-bay single-storey lower end bay to right having camber-headed carriageway. Pitched slate roofs with terracotta ridge tiles, and no rainwater goods on timber eaves. Unpainted roughcast walls over random rubble limestone construction. Square-headed door opening with red brick block-and-start surround, and timber door. Pair of square-headed carriageways with red brick block-and-start surrounds, and no fittings. Camber-headed carriageway to end bay with cut-limestone voussoirs, and painted corrugated-iron double doors. (iii) Attached three-bay single-storey outbuilding, c.1900, to east possibly originally detached incorporating fabric of earlier range, pre-1840, on site. Pitched slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered rubble stone eaves. Painted roughcast lime rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with no sills, concealed dressings, and timber fittings. Square-headed door opening with timber lintel, and timber door.

A pleasant modest-scale range accommodating residential and commercial spaces in a wholly-integrated composition. Having been carefully maintained the house presents an early aspect with the original form and massing in place together with most of the historic fabric both to the exterior and to the interior: a finely-crafted shopfront of considerable artistic design merit displaying good craftsmanship has also been fully retained despite the apparent cessation of the commercial venture. A collection of attendant outbuilding ranges enhances the group and setting values of the site in the locality.
