What is recorded here
The precise location of a mill in the townland of Ballyengland Lower has not been identified. The 1654-56 Civil Survey of Limerick recorded that Nicholas Fanninge of Limerick, alderman and Irish Papist was the owner of the lands of Lower Englandstown which contained 'a mill streame’ (Simington 1938, 308).
