What is recorded here
De Courcy (1996, 63) mentions a mill race which is depicted at this location on the 1837 ed. OSi 6-inch map where it is shown flowing from S to N immediately to the W of Steevens' Hospital (DU018-020341-). A weir on the River Camac to the E of Swift's Hospital diverts the water into the mill race which feeds a building aligned E-W on the E side of the mill race which may have been a watermill. This building depicted on the 1837 ed. OSi 6-inch map stands on the E side of the mill race immediately W of Steevens' Hospital.
