Triangular-profile cast-iron mile marker, erected c.1830, with sloping triangular top, roll moulding to apex of 'V' and raised lettering and numbering reading 'INNOSH 13'(north side), 'CORK 2' (south side), 'SKIBB CORK' to top.

This milestone is a notable addition to the streetscape and is a reminder of early nineteenth-century developments in road transport. The triangular form and simple detailing make it instantly recognisable and legible. It was erected along the Cork to Skibeereen mail coach road and is a rare example of its type. It still bears its makers mark, though this is illegible, and was cast in Cork.
