Midden in Magheramore buried human life beneath Donegal sand until winter storms stripped the dunes in 1980. Fire-cracked stones, animal bones, metal slag and pottery emerged scattered across a wide area, suggesting people lived there long enough to fill the earth with the remains of meals, heat and making. The sea returned the dunes, hiding the evidence again, but the sudden exposure proved the coast was not empty.

Covering a large area of sand-dunes. Habitation material was exposed at various points here in the winter of 1980. This consisted of fire-cracked stones animal bones, metal slag and pottery.
