What is recorded here
Midden in An Droim Thoir is a small mound of cockle shells on the W side of the estuary of the Scorid and Glennahoo rivers, on the S side of Brandon Bay in County Kerry, Ireland. It has not been determined whether this is a natural collection of shells or a site of archaeological significance. The mound may mark a place where people lived, ate and discarded what they no longer needed, or it may be only a tide-made heap of broken white edges. Either way, it stands at the meeting of two rivers as a quiet reminder that even a small place can hold layers of life.
