What is recorded here

Edgeworthstown, County Longford, is the birthplace of Michael Pakenham Edgeworth, the Irish botanist who spent decades collecting plants across northern India. He arrived there on 24 May 1812 as one of twenty-four children of Richard Lovell Edgeworth, a prolific family that also produced the novelist Maria Edgeworth. The town gave him life, while distant India gave him purpose, turning a crowded childhood into a lifelong pursuit of ferns, seed plants and forgotten landscapes.
