Situated on top of a broad hill. This is a gallery (L 2.5m) orientated NNW-SSE with two E side stones and a large S back stone. A low stone at right angles to E side of the gallery may be buttress. It remains unclassified but it is probably a wedge-tomb. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). Megalithic tomb in Skeagarvey is likely a passage tomb, dating to the Neolithic period. Its orientation and structural features suggest ritual or funerary significance typical of early communal burial practices.
