What is recorded here
Kerry road works buried the Killelton dolmen, yet heavy stones and human intention still lie beneath modern traffic. The tomb escaped mapping and classification, preserving a rare address only memory and old measurements can recover. Forgetting did not erase the chamber; it merely shifted the chamber below human sight.
The location of this unclassified megalithic tomb was recorded in the Kerry Archaeological Magazine (1908, no. 1, 110) as follows: 'beneath the present road to Dingle, a little to the W. of Kilelton Church (KE037-025001-) is a dolmen not shown on map.' Its exact location is unknown.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
