Megalithic Tomb

Megalithic Tomb in County Cork, Ireland: upright stones hold a flat roof above a chamber where people placed the dead before writing existed. The chamber is small enough to enter, dark enough to forget daylight, and old enough to make breath sound like intrusion. Whatever lived nearby must have carried stone, remembered names in ritual, and left the chamber empty for the dead.
