Massacre of Mullaghmast

Mullaghmast in County Kildare remains the site where Henry Sidney and English forces murdered between 100 and 400 Gaelic nobles in late 1577 or early 1578 after luring them there under a false promise of alliance. The trap turned friendship into butchery, filling the ancient landscape with burned bodies and shattered trusts. That is why the land still feels heavy, not dead, because the joy of hospitality was weaponised into erasure.
