Situated in flat pasture. A large, flat megalith, which is reputed to have been a mass rock, is located immediately S of ringfort (WM018-051----). Mass rock is not visible on Digital Globe aerial photography.

A mass rock was used in secret by Catholics during periods of religious persecution, particularly under anti-Catholic laws in Ireland. This site in Davidstown is associated with clandestine Catholic worship.
