The facts already identify a mass-rock in Carker Middle, County Cork: a flat-topped conglomerate rock with a lower slab and two smaller stones, reached by a forest track on the Ballyhoura Mountains. Local information says mass was celebrated there on the last Monday in July, and local tradition places a pauper's grave nearby. The story is a rural Catholic memorial landscape: a rock made into an altar, a field or forest edge made into a place of remembrance, and a yearly date that kept the memory alive.

In coniferous forest, on S slope of Ballyhoura Mountains; signposted from road and approached by forest track. Flat-topped conglomerate rock (2.1m x 1.55m; H c. 1.4m); lower slab (1.75m x 1.05m; H 1.1m) c. 1.53m to S; two smaller stones close gap at E side. According to local information, mass celebrated here on last Monday in July each year. Also according to local tradition, pauper's grave marked by stones, between mass rock and river (c. 60m to W); area now very overgrown.
