Marguerite Donlon

Marguerite Donlon was born in County Longford on 31 May 1966, entering the world with the kind of stubborn fire that later carried her from traditional Irish dance into the rigorous studios of Berlin and Saarbrucken. She did not discover ballet until thirteen, yet that late beginning never slowed her; it sharpened her, turning delay into depth and depth into a voice that could reshape Giselle, Romeo and Julia, even the Nutcracker. Longford gave her life, but the wider world gave her a stage large enough for the shape of her thinking.
