Manod Mawr rises to approximately 310 metres and is part of the low mountainous terrain of Eryri (Snowdonia). It lies within the traditional landscape of the Carneddau range, an area rich in early Welsh folklore and archaeological remains. Its inclusion on official maps of Gwynedd reflects its local significance in the regional topography.
