What is recorded here
Under the cashel at Uragh, a hidden tunnel may still wait for a lantern bright enough to reveal its shape. The local story speaks of a man-made passage beneath the ancient stones, yet no one has found the entrance or measured the dark. Perhaps the earth swallowed the opening, or perhaps the tunnel never existed beyond the imagination of the people who first whispered its name.
There is a local tradition of a tunnel, possibly a Man-made underground passage, in the interior of a cashel (LE001-053----) but no evidence of it was identified.
