Tawnylough is a rath in County Mayo. Local tradition holds that a man-made underground passage once ran through its interior, entered through an opening in the north bank. That opening was blocked in the past and no longer shows, leaving the cave hidden beneath ordinary ground.

In a rath (MA091-012----). According to local tradition, a ‘cave’ or Man-made underground passage in the rath interior was access through an opening in the bank on the N side of the rath.
