Man-made underground passage in Strandsend

A drystone-built Man-made underground passage, described as containing passages and chambers, was discovered several decades ago at this location on the S side of the Ferta river estuary. It is not marked on the OS maps. It extended in part beneath the present Cahersiveen-Killorglin roadway and was infilled for safety reasons by the County Council (local information).
