What is recorded here
Slievenaglogh is a man-made underground passage in County Louth, Ireland. It is an L-shaped drystone-built passage extending north-south for 9m, then turning northeast for 3.6m, with a width of 0.6m and height of 1m. It is located within a ringfort. The narrow, angular shape suggests deliberate construction rather than natural erosion, possibly for storage, defence, or ritual use.
The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
