Man-made underground passage in Sheshymore

Situated in the SE quadrant of a cashel (CL009-110----), this Man-made underground passage (visible L 4.8; original H 1.1m) is oriented E-W. It is blocked at either end by rubble but access was gained through this material at the E end. The base of the passage (Wth 1.4m) is wider than the top (Wth 0.7) as a result of the corbelling inwards of the side-walls. Some very large stones (max. L 1.6m; max. H 0.5m) are incorporated into the side-walls, particularly on the N side. Six roof lintels are visible and there is a gap where another one is missing.
