Inside the Rath at glanarought By., a collapsed opening reveals a narrow earth-cut chamber where a low ridge marks the buried line of the passage. The chamber is about three metres long, one metre high and one and a half metres wide, with a rounded roof and a creeping way at its north end. That much is known. What is missing is the reason it was cut, the hands that shaped it, and the life that moved through it before collapse and forgetting closed the way.

In a rath (KE102-043----). A collapsed opening to a Man-made underground passage is visible on the external face of the scarp of the rath, above the fosse at S. The Man-made underground passage consists of an earth-cut chamber (Wth 1.5m; H c. 1m; L c. 3m) with a rounded roof. A creepway at the N end of the chamber extends to the N. A low ridge extends to the N along the centre of the interior of the rath and several depressions along this ridge suggest the line of the Man-made underground passage. Collapse at the base of a depression at N reveals a damaged chamber. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
