No visible trace remains, but the story says people cut two chambered rooms beneath a levelled ringfort in Peafield before the earth took them back. They built lintels across underground openings, which means they wanted the passage to stay open long enough to use. The chambers may have hidden tools, sheltered people from storm and notice, or served a purpose the forgers never recorded. What is certain is that human hands shaped the dark, and the land erased the proof.

In levelled ringfort (CO054-086---). According to local information, Man-made underground passage discovered while levelling ringfort in early 1980s. Two earth-cut chambers with lintels were noted at that time. Now no visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
