Man-made underground passage in Longford Demesne is a man-made underground passage in Longford Demesne, County Sligo, Ireland. A story claims it leads to a fort five hundred yards distant. The narrow passage had flagged tops and bottoms with clay built sides, but it is now closed and no remains are visible.
An earlier report (ITA Survey 1942-4) recorded an underground passage within 20 yards of Longford House. 'It is stated to lead to a fort five hundred yards distant. It is a narrow passage, flagged both over and under, and with clay built sides. It is now closed.' There are no remains now visible.
