Lackabane holds a rectangular stone chamber beneath a levelled ringfort, built with lintels and marked by an Ogham inscription. J.P. McCarthy investigated the passage in the early 1980s, revealing a space narrow enough for one person to walk through but tall enough to stand beneath. The chamber still points north-northeast like a buried arrow, waiting for someone to wonder who cut it, who wrote on it, and why they hid it under an ancient fort.

In levelled ringfort (CO050-100001-). Investigated by J.P. McCarthy in early 1980s. Single rectangular stone-built chamber (L 3.48m; Wth 1.2m; H 1.5m; long axis NNE-SSW), roofed with lintels. Basal course of walls composed of stone slabs (H 0.5m; 1m x 0.4m). Ogham inscription on one lintel (CO050-100003-). (pers. comm. J. P.
