What is recorded here

Knockagolig hides a closed underground passage inside its ringfort, proving the earth there was cut rather than waiting to be discovered. Bowman recorded the finding in 1934 after the passage had already disappeared from view, leaving no surface trace for later curiosity. That sudden absence turns the site into a trap for imagination: perhaps it choked with soil, perhaps someone sealed it deliberately, or perhaps the ground simply took back what human hands had borrowed.

In ringfort (CO015-071---). Bowman (1934, 382) noted that 'some years ago, a Man-made underground passage was found on the South side, but this has now been closed'. No visible surface trace.
