Kilrean Upper holds a circular earthwork with a western gap, yet local memory insists a hidden cave waits beneath the soil. The ridge now yields to reclamation, threatening to erase the boundary between fact and fantasy. What if the missing chamber still breathes underneath, waiting for someone reckless enough to listen for its echo?

An almost circular area (DG074-007001-) enclosed by an earthen bank up to 3m in height. A 3.7m gap on the W is a likely entrance. There is also a fosse and external bank. There is a local tradition for a 'cave' in the interior but no trace of this can be seen. The site is located on a NNW-SSE ridge in land currently under reclamation.
