What is recorded here
Kilcullen South ringfort hides a collapsed underground passage beneath its uneven ground. People built the fort above a hollow way, then forgot the way beneath. The land kept both truths, waiting for someone careful enough to listen.
In ringfort (CO061-012001-). Interior of ringfort very uneven, which may indicate presence of collapsed Man-made underground passage.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
