Underground passage in the Irish cashel at Inches, built by human hands and later infilled, has no visible surface trace. The hidden tunnel may have served as a refuge, a boundary marker or a forgotten route through the landscape. Its disappearance beneath soil and time is typical of small western Irish earthworks, where human ingenuity and natural erosion both shape the land.
