Man-made underground passage in Frenchbrook South

Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

Frenchbrook South holds a stone-built underground passage hidden inside a cashel. Local tradition says the entrance, possibly on the north slope, was blocked and concealed. The passage still exists beneath the ground, waiting for someone to remember where the stones once opened.
In a cashel (MA121-024001-). According to local tradition, there was a stone-built Man-made underground passage within the cashel but the entrance, which may have been in the N slope, was blocked up and concealed in the past. Compiled by: Jane O'Shaughnessy Date of upload: 22 December 2014
