Death and darkness are certain in Curraghcreen. The chamber has vanished, its stones removed and the hole filled, yet the act of burying the passage implies someone wanted the chamber forgotten or the fort sealed. That is more interesting than measurement. A hidden room in a ringfort may have stored treasure, hidden people during raid, or contained a ritual no one wanted witnessed. The destruction is the final testimony. Forgetting is also a shape of love.

In ringfort (CO032-13601-). According to Bowman (1934, 16), 'a Man-made underground passage was in this fort; the stones were removed, and the hole filled in'. Exact location not known.
