What is recorded here

No visible cave or chamber exists, but the landowner still calls it a cave because his father entered it through a gate that has since collapsed. The forgotten gate may have been a wooden beam, a stone lintel or a living convention now lost. The hollow remains a narrow opening in the ringfort earth, waiting for the missing gate to be imagined.

In SE quadrant of a ringfort (GA046-042----). A shallow oblong hollow (N-S 5m, E-W 2m) is pointed out as the entrance to a 'cave'. According to the landowner, this was accessible in this father's time via a 'gate' which has since collapsed.
