Man-made underground passage in Cloghnakeava

Within the S half of a cashel (GA129-009001-). This partially collapsed drystone-built Man-made underground passage (L >14m) is L-shaped in plan and consists of two passages connected by a drop-hole creep. The 1st passage (L 9m; Wth 1.8m; H 0.3m) runs SE-NW; the creep (L 1.4m; Wth 0.5m; H0.3m) extends from its NW end. Due to collapse both of these sections are inaccessible. Traces of a small N-S running recess evident near the NW end of the S side-wall of the creep may indicate an air vent or another creep. The 2nd passage (L c. 5m; Wth 1.7m; H 1.2-1.5m) extends from the creep and runs NE-SW. Access is gained via a breach at its NE end.
