Man-made underground passage in Cappeen West

Discovered in 1878 during ploughing; a second collapse reported in 1929 (MacCarthy 1977, 202). Six chambers were described, all earth-cutand joined by creepways. Dimensions of chambers: L c.1.2m, Wth c. 1.35m, H c.1.35m. No surface evidence noted. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
