Man-made underground passage in Cahergarriff

In pasture. According to local information the ground collapsed here during ploughing many years ago. Underground passages, with rounded roofs cut from stiff clay, were revealed running in a SE direction for c. 8m and some more passages ran in a SW direction. A slight depression (D c. 0.5m) indicates the location of the collapsed area but the entrance to the passages is now closed up. This is also the location of a possible cashel (CO127-030002-).
