What is recorded here

No visible trace remains of the chamber, yet a sketch in the Windele manuscript shows a stone-built room with a creephole framed by jambs and a lintel. That narrow opening suggests people bent or crawled through rather than walked upright, turning the hidden space into a place of patience and shadow. The chamber may have stored grain, hidden tools or offered shelter when storms closed the sky above the ringfort. Whatever it held, the builders shaped stone to fit the body and the body to fit the dark.
