Corbally Church stood at the north end of its graveyard until decay reduced it to a low overgrown mound. The 1842 Ordnance Survey map still labels the hollow as the site of that ancient parish church, preserving a boundary the stones forgot. People may have kept burying their dead there long after the building vanished, trusting the ground to remember what the eye could no longer see.
