Man-made underground passage in Addergown

Caherbuckaun/Cathair Bhocáin (stonefort of Bocán - personal name). KE009-050---- is situated in the corner of a pastoral field, and a stream lies to the E. SE of this site lies a univallate cahir (KE009-051----). It consists of a circular area enclosed by a well-defined stone-lined bank. The interior is at a higher level than the surrounding land and is gently sloping E. 'Caves' are marked on the 1841-42 OS map and in the centre of the interior is a sub-circular area, 21.7m N-S and 14.8m E-W. This is possibly the remains of the Man-made underground passage feature (KE009-050001-) . The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle.
